Book Launch Party
“It was the kind of night June was made for…” Cerulean skies and warm, fragrant air. People milled around blithely at the pre-party on the lawn, mixing summer finery with sparkling drinks, eating fresh strawberries dipped in dark-chocolate ganache. Add artisanal cheeses from Cricket Creek Farm, savory hors d’oeuvres, plenty of wine, tumbling flowers, and live old-school rock and reggae, and you get a Vermont-style literary soiree.
Diana signed the first copies of Wanting It. Children ran barefoot in the grass. Guests wanted to linger but it was time to walk over to Next Stage for the poetry reading. Settled in the dusky quiet of the historic building, the audience watched, rapt, as novelist and book shaman Suzanne Kingsbury introduced Diana; then the author took the stage and brought her poems to life.
